The lucky ones amongst us remember inspirational teachers; moments when some committed adult opened a door for us to an exciting new world, and we were changed forever.

We have a vision for Project Gro – creating a community of healthy, happy gardeners that will value, use and share this knowledge as they grow up.

Our children need to know where their food comes from, and that they can grow healthy organic food themselves! That is why I am confidently asking for your support for Project Gro.

Project Gro is aimed at fostering organic gardens in schools and communities around the country; teaching the importance of healthy soil and good nutrition, garden cycles, beneficial plants and insects, providing garden mentors, and creating and maintaining composting systems, worm farms, vegetable gardens and fruit forests.

The lessons children learn at school, are all carried home and resonate through the family and the community.

Through Project Gro we will work to build a ground-up network of informed, empowered and committed children, caregivers and parents, who know the value and the importance of healthy organic food.

This project needs you, please make a donation.

For a healthy organic nation,

Dr Matthew Morris
Chair, Soil & Health Association of New Zealand
